16th July, 10.00am – 12.00pm

2-hour online training event (via Teams) providing delegates with an understanding of the impact epilepsy and how to manage different types of seizures.

At Epilepsy Society we are committed to enhancing the understanding and support for individuals with epilepsy. This session is designed to equip educators, administrators and support staff with an understanding of epilepsy, first aid for seizures and the necessary knowledge to create a supportive and inclusive environment.

Our trainer will be joined by Dr Bryony Crane, Clinical Psychologist, Chalfont Centre for Epilepsy, UCLH Foundation Trust, who will be focusing on ‘the impact that epilepsy has on memory and learning’.

The session includes:

  • an introduction to epilepsy
  • causes and diagnosis
  • types of seizures (including management and first aid)
  • treatments – medication and side effects
  • status epilepticus
  • impact of epilepsy on learning
  • epilepsy and learning disability
