COVID-19 vaccination programme for Spring 2025

The Government has announced the COVID-19 vaccination programme for Spring 2025.

The advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) is that the following groups should be offered the COVID-19 vaccination

  • adults aged 75 years and over
  • residents in a care home for older adults
  • individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed (as defined in the ‘immunosuppression’ sections of tables 3 or 4 in the COVID-19 chapter of the green book)

COVID-19 vaccine

People with epilepsy are not automatically eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine, unless they are in one of the groups above.

They are not included as part of the clinical risk group unless they have respiratory difficulties due to a chronic neurological condition such as epilepsy. This is because people in this category are at greater risk of serious disease and most likely to benefit from the vaccine.

If you are eligible for a COVID-19, flu or RSV vaccination this winter do get vaccinated as soon as possible to protect yourselves, your family and the NHS.
