A new nature trail at the Epilepsy Society

A big thank you to all the amazing volunteers and donors who have helped to create a new nature trail at the Epilepsy Society.

People living at the charity’s Chalfont Centre, their families, friends  - and our scarecrow - can now enjoy the tranquility of the beautifully landscaped garden, including a sunflower safari and wildflower meadow. 

There are a number of seating areas for visitors to choose from, while bird boxes, bird baths and insect houses are helping to attract wildlife and increase biodiversity. Visitors can also admire a display of masks created during art classes at the Chalfont Centre.

Over 150 people have donated to the fully accessible trail which has been an initiative of the Families and Friends of Epilepsy Society. Donations included £10,000 funding from the National Lottery and £1,000 from Magic Little Grants. 

Nicola Davies, Chair of the Families and Friends said: “Many of our donors have asked to remain anonymous and the volunteers who helped make the project possible are too numerous to mention by name. But I would like to thank each and every one of them who have helped to create this wonderful facility for our loved ones, staff and visitors.”

The nature trail was officially opened by the renowned restaurateur and celebrity chef, Anthony Worrall Thompson during a special event attended by more than 200 people.
