3D-multimodal imaging and computer-assisted navigation

Hamartomas in the hypothalamus can give rise to severe epilepsy that is not controlled with medication and is not accessible to surgery.

The challenge is to find a safe trajectory that does not damage critical structures or blood vessels in the brain. We have developed 3D-multimodal imaging to display these structures and computer-assisted navigation to find safe trajectories.
