Adam Franks, owner of Legacy Sportswear, has epilepsy and always dreamt of playing ice hockey. With the right support and medication, he achieved his dream and played to a high standard for Guildford Flames.

Now retired from the game, he has poured his energy into his thriving business, producing quality leisure wear and ice hockey merchandise.

Adam wants to do everything he can to get people talking about the condition and understand how we can all come together to support people living with epilepsy and is generously donating 10% of the net sales price of his ice hockey and leisure wear products sold online and at games, to the Epilepsy Society.

On 1st March, almost 2,000 Flames and Panther fans came together for a thrilling charity match, which saw a 2-1 win for the Flames. This was the first time that the Flames had run a charity event, which featured players wearing Epilepsy Society branded training tops.

The players also spoke to camera to promote our Calm, Cushion, Call first aid message. Even Roary the Lion, the Flames mascot, was in a specially branded t-shirt.

As well as raising vital funds through donations, product sales and a raffle of ice hockey memorabilia, the Epilepsy Society launched our If I Can, You Can campaign to get people talking about this common condition and ending stigma.
