Free online courses for friends and family

At Epilepsy Society we understand how epilepsy can have much wider implications for family members and friends.

We are launching our first course on Thursday 29th May. It is two hours long and will be online.

Why join our course?

Living with epilepsy can be challenging, not just for those diagnosed but also for their family and friends. Understanding more about epilepsy and how to offer effective support can make a significant difference in their lives. Our courses have been developed alongside people with epilepsy and their families, ensuring the content is relevant and impactful.

What will you learn?

  • Effective support strategies: learn practical ways to assist your loved one during seizures (including how to administer emergency medication), and daily life
  • Knowledge: build your general epilepsy knowledge
  • Self-care: it’s also important to remember to look after yourself, our course includes information and sources of support for you
  • Resources and information: signposting to resources and information to help you navigate the challenges of epilepsy

Course format

Our courses are conducted live online in small groups to allow for interaction and discussion and are led by experienced trainers.
