Have your say: consultation on benefit reforms

The Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working Green Paper consultation sets out the Governments plans and proposals to reform health and disability benefits and employment support.

The Government is keen to hear views from a wide group of people, in particular people with disabilities and people with health conditions as well as disability organisations.

Issues open for consultation include:

  • Supporting people to thrive with the new support offer.
  • Supporting employers and making work more accessible.
  • Reforming the structure of the health and disability benefits system.

Epilepsy Society will be submitting a response to the consultation, but we encourage our supporters to also participate.

Please note that any changes to Personal Independent Payments are not covered in this consultation. The government is proposing more frequent reassessments for many PIP claimants, including more face-to-face assessments. However, those with the most severe, long-term conditions will be exempt from any further reassessments under the suggested reforms. Epilepsy Society will work with the Department of Work and Pensions to feedback on the reforms as and when the opportunity arises.

There are also face to face events being held across the UK. See here for the consultation document: Pathways to Work: Reforming Benefits and Support to Get Britain Working

The consultation closes at 11.59pm on 30 June 2025.
