Background
Dr Lisa Clayton studied medicine at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' Medical School, London. She first came to Chalfont as a medical student in 2007 staying for four years to complete a PhD with the Epilepsy Group at The UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and Chalfont Centre. After finishing her medical training, she returned to Chalfont in 2020 to undertake a post-doctoral clinical research fellowship in epilepsy genetics.
Research interests
Clinical and research interests focus on early-onset severe epilepsies, particularly genetic epilepsies, and their long-term impact in adulthood, including treatment responses, health outcomes, and quality of life.
Areas of supervision
Specialist epilepsy genomics clinic and a Dravet syndrome clinic at Chalfont. Awarded an Epilepsy Research Institute & Dravet Syndrome UK Emerging Leader Fellowship in 2025 to explore autonomic dysfunction in adults with Dravet syndrome.
