Residential care and CQC reports

Our specialist residential care for adults with epilepsy is provided at our Chalfont Centre in Buckinghamshire. We provide residential care for approximately 90 adults, who in addition to their epilepsy, often have associated and additional complications, including physical and learning disabilities, brain injury and autism.

We have six residential care homes in which residents are empowered to live as full a life as possible within a supportive environment.  Since 2009 we have opened two new residential care homes to provide specialist accommodation in a contemporary living environment. Our three long-established care homes provide comfortable and homely accommodation.

The wheelchair-friendly homes on our green campus in Buckinghamshire provide relaxed and friendly atmospheres. All homes have communal living and dining rooms alongside large enclosed gardens and residents are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms to make them as individual as they are themselves.

We believe in individualised care and empowerment and our residential care service is based on the ethos of person-centred planning. This means that the person and those of importance to them are fully involved in developing highly individualised care plans.  Continual assessment of all needs is built into the ethos of Epilepsy Society and strong family involvement is actively encouraged.
